The Light Projection ArrayLPA-1 is a sophisticated light projector fully optimized to illuminate a whole wall-sized surface with the complex color patterns created by Light Modulation™. Making use of the latest technology in dichroic filters and fiberoptics, it provides a level of integration and functionality previously unseen in a single unit.
While the LPA-1 has been replaced with the new LPA-2 LED Light Projection Array as the primary light source for the Sensora® system, it is still made available for those who prefer the warmth of halogen light to LEDs.
The LPA-1 integrates the following components:
15 independent light sources, partitioned as 5 groups of 3 primary colors: Red, Blue and Green.
5 special randomized fiberoptics bundles performing color mixing of the primary colors within each group. Through additive color synthesis, the output of each bundle projects a beam of any color within the rainbow spectrum.
15 precision digital power dimmer circuits, allowing light intensity gradation of all 15 sources under control of a Light Modulation controller such as the SD-2 Sensor Driver , or any other industry-standard DMX-512 lighting controller.

Full rainbow spectrum color palette:
The LPA-1 is optimized to generate the saturated colors required by the Sensora light patterns. Thanks to high-quality dichroic filters, the LPA-1 projections achieves a purity of color seldom seen in natural settings, over close to the whole range of the rainbow spectrum.
Intense light output:
Each of the LPA-1 15 light sources is rated at 250W.
Digital power dimmers:
Within the LPA-1 is a complete electronic system controlling the light sources with the high speed (120 updates per second) and resolution (1000 discrete intensity levels) required to create the unique Sensora light patterns. The dimmers are controlled by professional industry-standard DMX-512 digital protocol.
Intelligent power management:
The LPA-1 is designed so that its light sources need never all be On at the same time, ensuring that the overall power consumption does not exceed the 15A rating of a normal 120VAC household electric circuit. Consequently, it does not require any special high-current electrical outlets.
Brainwave entrainment capability:
The LPA-1 has been carefully designed so as to generate high-speed light pulsations suitable for brainwave entrainment. This involves all stages of the system, from the high refresh-rate control protocol, to the high-speed dimmer circuits, to the fast-reacting halogen light bulbs. As a result, the LPA-1 is capable of projecting usable light pulsations up to a frequency of 16Hz.
Low-noise variable speed ventilation:
The fans cooling the LPA-1 are under computer control and fade in and out smoothly when they are needed, without jarring transitions.
Lamp status indicator:
The LPA-1 automatically verifies if any of its 15 lamps are burnt out, and reports the location of any faulty lamp on a dual 7-segment LED display. The lamp compartment can be opened without tools so that lamps are easily replaced.
(Under intense use, the lamps will normally have a lifetime of about one month. Lamp replacement should therefore be monitored on a regular basis.)
